about
Run is a full throated retro-rock howl of a question. "I'm gonna run", Von Bieker declares, wondering "will you still love me if I do?"
Von Bieker’s impassioned plea for love despite his own faults and faithlessness is accented by Brennan Cameron's blistering organ and a three piece horn section that includes renowned Edmonton players Audrey Ochoa, Bob Tildesley and Dave Babcock. An energetic explosion of vintage guitar vibes the stage for vocals pushed to breaking in the Run's pleading crescendo.
Releasing April 29, 2022, this is the second single from Von Bieker’s upcoming five song EP Will You Still Love Me?, out Summer 2022.
lyrics
If it's not a weight on my shoulders
Then it's heavy, heavy on my heart
If you're not working at pushing me down
Then you're pulling me apart
I want what's easy
I don't want the truth
So I'm gonna run
Run, run, run, run
Will you still love me if I do?
You can call it a calling
Oh you can call it curse
But they both feel like falling
And I'm not quite sure which is worse
But I've got these memories
Of when I've been blessed
So I'm gonna run
Run, run, run, run
Oh I'm gonna run
Run, run, run run
Haven't you got what you wanted?
You stripped me right down to the bone
Why won't you leave me alone
Oh don't leave me alone
Cos I'm gonna run
Run, run, run, run
Oh I'm gonna run
Run, run, run, run
Will you still love me if I do?
Will you still love me if I do?
